David Lynch Foundation

Women.Meditation.Stress Luncheon + Panel Discussion
The Paley Center for Media
October 2013

The David Lynch Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in 2005 to fund the implementation of scientifically proven stressreducing modalities, including the Transcendental Meditation program, for at risk populations such as underserved innercity students; veterans with PTSD and their families; women and girls who are victims of domestic violence; American Indians suffering from diabetes, cardiovascular disease and high suicide rates; homeless men participating in reentry programs who are striving to overcome addictions; and incarcerated juveniles and adults.

The New York City Mayor's Office, the David Lynch Foundation Women's Initiative and the Avon Foundation for Women partnered to bring the evidencebased, stressreducing, nonreligious Transcendental Meditation technique to victims of domestic violence, their children and the professional staff that works with this population to help promote their health, wellbeing, resilience, and selfsufficiency. The event included a panel discussion with Lena Dunham, Candy Crowley, Lesley Seymour, Carol Kurzig, Rehana Farrell and Yolanda Jimenez.
